Hi For sale is my 1999 Ford Focus Zetec 1.8 in Metallic Moondust Silver. I purchased this car about 2 and a half years ago and i am the third owner. Since i purchased it it was serviced every year and had an oil change every 6 months using only Castrol Magnatec oil. The car drives without fault and is in very good condition considering it is 11 years old. I spent a lot of money on maintaining it and below is a list of what it had done since i bought it New Cambelt and tensioner fitted last summer (done every 100000 miles or 10 years) New Auxilary belt New Water pump and thermostat New Clutch (done last june) New discs and pads and hoses (front and rear) done last june New anti roll bar bushes (front and rear) New rocker cover gasket New steering arms New front anti roll bar linkages New rear swingarm bushes New front passangers tyre done few weeks ago due to puncture A new vehicle speed sensor (that sits in the gearbox) has been fitted which is a common fault on mk1 focuses It was last serviced in December and had new plugs air filter cabin filter oil filter and oil There is probably more work that i cant remember I spent a lot of time and money changing all the bushes so that the car now drives without any knocking noises and is very smooth. This is one of the more rare models which comes with rear disc brakes and traction stability control and ofcourse Abs. This car also comes with a heated front screen which is a godsend and is much better than scraping frost off first thing in the morning. The car was cleaned once every 2 weeks without fail using only Autoglym products and polished every month The engine is smooth and efficient if driven carefully (got me from Calais to Le Mans in just under 3 4 of a tank) It still has just under 2 month tax and mot expires in september. Since i owned it it sailed through the mot everytime without even an advisory and it has never broken down or failed to start. It is a very low insurance group and cheap to tax too. At the age of 18 i was paying 1400 which is very cheap for a 1.8 Being an 11 year old car there are some bad points The air con does not work very well (been like that since i bought it but it has not bothered me as it drinks fuel) It does not come with a Cd player unfortunately as the one i had was very dear and is not included in the sale The alloy wheels are kurbed but can easily be refurbed for around £35 per wheel On the rear mudflaps the paint has started to flake away (easy fix just sand them down and respray) The side skirts also have a bit of paint peeling around the edges this can also be touched up) There are some little stone chips and hairline scratches around the car but nothing major (just wear and tear) There are 2 very small dents on the drivers wing (i will try and pull them out before the car is sold) Very fine mark on the front bonnet where some clever cogs bumped into it but is not very noticeable or big. A little chip in the windscreen however it passed the mot does not affect the performance of the heated screen or increase in size The drivers armrest and seat bolster have some wear. Over all the car is in very good condition considering the age and i had comments from friends that it looks years younger. I have been as honest as possible and dont really want to sell as it is a very reliable car but change in circumstances forces sale. The car is being kept at my friends garage as it is not in use anymore. The car has a full Lpg Conversion (Liquid Petroleum Gas) which costs almost half the price of diesel or unleaded. Around 70p per litre. It has no petrol filler and so only runs on Lpg. It will do approximately 135 150 miles on a full tank which costs about £60. With the Lpg you get a massive top of the range (in its day) Mercedes-Benz S500. Within the last 1500 miles I have had the following done All New Leads All New Plugs All New Rotor Arms Flushed and refilled the cooling system Check Up on Lpg system (No leaks All Good) Replaced both rear tyres (700 miles ago) Oil Refilled (200 miles ago) Total Spent £900 The Car does still have its issues Rear drivers side door doesnt open Neither rear windows work Rear drivers side window is open a tiny crack (no leaks just wind noise sometimes) Passenger Side Wing Mirror has no mirror Small piece of trim missing from front skirt No Mercedes Badge I also annoyingly have No Manuals or Service History (Lost in a recent move) only the most recent and previous Mot certificates. All that said and done this car has been in my family for over a decade with me driving it over 20 miles a day every day for well over the last year. Its smooth responsive fast incredibly comfortable and spacious and exceptionally cheap. I have an excellent mechanic who has maintained the Lpg conversion and I will forward his number if required to the new owner.
